Bill Clinton

How we wish he was back!
The 42nd President of the United States. Lied under oath about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky and subsequently, in 1998, became the second president in U.S. history (the first was Andrew Johnson) to be impeached by the House of Representatives.
Of course you have seen the bumper sticker NOBODY DIED WHEN CLINTON LIED. Don’t be too sure. Where was Clinton’s attention when he was offered the captured Osama Bin Laden? Was he too preoccupied with something else to bring OBL to justice?

When was Clinton offered bin Laden? The truth is that Clinton had a program intended to capture or kill bin Laden. George W. Bush killed that program on January 22, 2001. That was after Bush avoided the briefing on the get-bin Laden program for more than three months.
@Ed Darrell Mr. Darrell asks an excellent question, one that has been disputed for some time now. Newsmax.com appears to assert that Clinton missed out on opportunities to capture Osama Bin Laden. You can read their position in their archives. They have archived audio tape here and they opine that Lewinsky played a role and it appears that they stand by their argument.
FactCheck.org originally contended that Bill Clinton did indeed pass up a chance to get OBL in 1996 when he was a guest of the government of Sudan. However there is contradictory testimony from several qualified sources, including contradictory testimony from Bill Clinton himself. FactCheck makes a valid point that at the time the US did not have enough evidence against OBL to secure an indictment. You can read their excellent discussion of this question and examine their supporting documents here.
