Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty
ST PAUL, Minnesota: The British are coming! The British are coming! The famous war cry of Paul Revere. Four words that stir the heart of every patriotic American. (Do they even teach this any more?) Over 200 years ago Paul Revere warned his neighbors about the coming dangers to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Now the British are coming again, only this time, they are warning us. On October 14th Lord Christopher Monckton came to America and spoke at the Minnesota Free Market Institute regarding the UN treaty on climate change to be signed by President Obama in Copenhagen in December 2009. In his address he raises the legitimate concern that Obama is preparing to sign away US sovereignty.
Lord Monckton is a well known environmentalist who served as a policy advisor to Margaret Thatcher. His suit to block “An Inconvenient Truth” from being shown in British schools resulted in the British court requiring that 9 serious errors in the film be explained to school children watching the film.
Thanks to the MFMI for hosting a modern day Paul Revere. Lord Monckton made a statement during this speech which is fundamental to the mission of the National Institute of Prevarication:
Here is why the truth matters. It was all very well for jesting Pilate to ask that question and then not to tarry for an answer. But that question that he asked, “what is the truth?” is the question which underlies every question and in the end it is the only question that really matters. When you ask that question what you are really asking is “what is the truth about the matter?” And we are now going to see why it matters morally, socially, and politically, as well as economically and scientifically. That the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth should inform public policy on this question. Lord Christopher Monckton speaking to the Minnesota Free Market Institute October 14, 2009
Here is a video clip that highlights the danger to US sovereignty of the Copenhagen treaty:
Anyone interested in global warming (now renamed “climate change”) owes it to himself and others to view Monckton’s entire address. It debunks the global warming myth in an informed, substantive manner. It not only exposes the faulty science behind this movement but also reveals the true objectives of its proponents. If you watch it you will want to follow along with his slide show. The Friends of Science have archived it here in PDF format. In his address Lord Monckton urges you not to “believe” him, but rather examine the facts and draw your own conclusions. Just exactly what we tell folks here at the NIP.
We have downloaded a draft of the climate change agreement from http://unfccc.int/ and archived it here for you to examine yourself. It is significant that it will create a world body to which the US will become subservient, all based on a premise that is seriously flawed.
GlobalClimateScam.com addresses the problem of international treaties and their impact on domestic law. This concern is not new, according to GlobalClimateScam.com, which cites the Bricker Amendment which failed to pass in 1953.
If you are clear thinking and concerned about this subject, but perhaps you doubt that such a travesty should ever occur, you need need to view Obamas’ address to the UN on this subject. It is time to get worried:
Many don’t worry about this treaty that Obama will surely sign because it requires a two-thirds majority in the US Senate to ratify it. The NIP is not so sure that it will fail to ratify. After all, the Republican candidate for president last year declared his support for climate change legislation.
It was 1993 when 96 senators voted to confirm Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a leftist judge who favored lowering the age of consent to 12. The Senate has a history of jumping on any band wagon they perceive as politically popular.
We here at the NIP agree with Shannon Bell from The Admonition that it is time to get involved: “Tea parties, protests, whatever it takes within the confines of the law.”
We need to heed the words of this modern-day Paul Revere, Lord Monckton: To Arms! To Arms!
