Denver Tea Party Sends Message to Washington
DENVER, Colorado: It’s time to send a message to Nancy Pelosi. Across the country concerned citizens have assembled this week in protest of the upcoming vote in the House on healthcare. They are marching on Washington today.
Members of congress have hidden in Washington far too long. They have conveniently forgotten their constituencies. As evidenced by the photo on the left, citizens have not forgotten their anger against big government. Nor have the voters in New Jersey and Virginia, judging by this week’s gubernatorial races.
A large crowd of Denver Tea Partiers assembled on November 3rd in protest of big government. In symbolic protest the gathering shredded 1990 pages of the health care bill and will deliver it on the steps of the Capitol noon today. (Read more at LookingAtTheLeft.com.) It’s time to get involved!
WASHINGTON: As mentioned previously by the NIP, legislators are banking on doctors doing what they are told. This is not just a gross miscalculation, but is a patent misrepresentation. Pelosi and Reid know fully well that if federal healthcare is passed doctors will quit practicing in droves.
Investors Business Daily/TIPP polls are renowned for their accuracy. In September IBD/TIPP polled doctors to evaluate their level of support for Obamacare.
Contrary to administration claims, there is substantial resistance among practicing physicians to the federalized healthcare proposals being considered. A striking finding is that 45% of doctors polled will consider leaving medicine if the proposal is enacted. Here are some key findings according to Terry Jones of IBD:

WASHINGTON: One key factor ignored by politicians in the healthcare debate: physicians’ willingness to do what they are told. Politicians assume that doctors work for them, and will do whatever they are ordered. This is not a valid assumption.
Take for example Medicare. Many doctors decline to see Medicare patients, citing diminishing payments and the increasing burden of paperwork imposed by the government:
Many people, just as they become eligible for Medicare, discover that the insurance rug has been pulled out from under them. Some doctors — often internists but also gastroenterologists, gynecologists, psychiatrists and other specialists — are no longer accepting Medicare, either because they have opted out of the insurance system or they are not accepting new patients with Medicare coverage. The doctors’ reasons: reimbursement rates are too low and paperwork too much of a hassle. Julie Connelly, NY Times

Deep in the Virginia Woods: A couple of of our NIP staffers were on the road in the back woods of Virginia and reported seeing a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house: ‘Talking Dog For Sale.’ So they pulled over and rang the bell. The owner answered the door and told them to check out the dog in the backyard.
In the back they saw a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there (pictured).
‘You talk?’, they asked.
‘Yep,’ the Lab replied. Read more…
WASHINGTON: Get us some oxygen. Staffers at the NIP passed out when they saw the “revised” job stimulus numbers last Friday. Early in the AM Recovery.gov was still reporting 30,383 jobs created or “saved” by the stimulus. (Read our coverage of those numbers here.) When the AP had examined those numbers they found 1 in 6 were bogus. We thought it odd that Robert Gibbs retorted at the time that the AP had found “only 5000″ phony jobs.
Sometime later on Friday the “revised” numbers were posted. That was when we needed the oxygen. Not in our wildest dreams did we think the WH would “revise” the claim upwards to 640,000, dropping the percentage of bogus jobs from 16.7% to .8%. Pretty audacious.
