A Soldier’s Christmas Call to Arms

December 19th, 2009 2 comments

My brother retired from the Army after a distinguished career. Our father fought in WWII, our grandfather in WWI, and many generations ago my family fought the British in the Revolutionary War. This video I produced for them, and for all those who have served. We owe them everything. (Contact us if you would like to receive a free DVD of the video, while supplies last.)

Communists and Socialists March in Copenhagen

December 18th, 2009 1 comment

We’re guessing you haven’t seen coverage of this in the MSM reports on the global warming conference in Copenhagen. This kind of demonstration is a little to overt for US audiences, so here in the US Socialists tone it down a bit by calling themselves Progressives, good for PR. So as to not attract too much attention they hide in little groups, like the Congressional Progressive Caucus (the largest caucus within the Democratic Congress. Won’t they be happy when they can come out in full colors like their brethren in Copenhagen…  Oh Europe… how we long for the days when we are more like you! This video kind of warms your heart, doesn’t it? Finally climate change we can believe in.

Congress Proposes Shamnesty for Illegal Aliens

December 17th, 2009 1 comment

Shamnesty for Illegal AliensWASHINGTON: If you are not already overwhelmed and perhaps apathetic due to the onslaught of legislation working its way through the halls of Congress this year, then toss this latest straw upon the camel’s back.

Members of the House have unveiled a bill authored by Illinois congressman Luis Gutierrez, which I affectionately call “Immigration Reform version 2.0.” Because this bill, as opposed to the defeated immigration bill of 2008, by Astroturf activists, would have to be new and improved. It must be fresh and innovative; otherwise what’s the point? The American people have already said no to previous attempts at reform.

Here is the meat of Rep. Gutierrez’s new bill. It would allow migrants to legalize their status without returning to their home countries. It would give nonimmigrant status to the 20 million illegal aliens living in the United States upon registering with the federal government, paying required application fees and a $500 fine, plus pass a criminal and security background check. And best of all, the bill eliminates the ability of local law enforcement from enforcing immigration laws. Thus only the federal government and its agents will have the ability to arrest and prosecute immigration violators.

If this all sounds vaguely familiar, then it should. Rep. Gutierrez’s bill, for the most part, includes the same ideas that the American people soundly rejected in 2008. The number one item that Americans take issue with is that the bill grants amnesty to lawbreakers, and strips states and cities of their ability to deal with illegal immigration. Read more…

Your Gun Stolen? Now YOU Go to Jail!

West Mifflin Punishes Gun Owners

Do Not Pass Go

WEST MIFFLIN, PA: Tuesday the  Bourough of West Mifflin council passed a gun control ordinance 6-1 which makes it a crime to have your gun stolen. The ordinance is not yet posted on their web site but details are reported by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

The ordinance, which passed Tuesday night by a vote of 6-1, states, “Any person who is the owner of a firearm that is lost or stolen shall report the loss or theft to the West Mifflin borough police department within 72 hours after discovery of the loss or theft.”

It also sets penalties of no more than 30 days imprisonment and/or a fine of no more than $1,000 for violation of the ordinance. Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

So let’s get this straight. You own a gun. You keep it at home. A burglar breaks in and steals your gun. You have to report the theft within 72 hours or you pay a fine and you spend 30 days in jail. Shouldn’t the burglar be punished and not you?

We here at the NIP can read. Apparently the West Mifflin Borough Council can’t. Because we can’t find anything in the 2nd amendment that give city councils any rights whatsoever in controlling gun ownership by American citizens. Don’t they have anything better to do?

Copenhagen is Only About Wealth Redistribution

December 16th, 2009 No comments

Little REDD BookCOPENHAGEN: The climate summit is distributing The Little REDD Book, a guidebook outlining the UN’s role in redistribution of wealth. It has been published by the Global Canopy Program, “an alliance of 37 scientific institutions in 19 countries, which lead the world in forest canopy research, education and conservation.”  This UN guide to wealth redistribution lays out the real purpose of the environmentalist movement:

If a post-Kyoto climate agreement fails to act on avoiding tropical deforestation, the achievement of overall climate change goals will become virtually impossible. The lives and livelihoods of millions of people will be put at risk, and the eventual economic cost of combating climate change will be far higher than it needs to be.

For these reasons, the next agreement must create meaningful incentives to remunerate forest nations for the valuable climate services they provide to the world. The Little REDD Book, multiple languages here, NIP archive here.

So we get it. Big Bad USA is supposed to send money to small jungle countries to pay them to not develop land that they wouldn’t develop anyway because they don’t have the energy, brains, property rights and freedom to do so. This is silly. We have more forests in the US than most of these smaller countries combined. And we can and do plant more trees every year. So we have to send them money? The US has done more than any other country in reducing emissions. They should send us money. Read more…

Government Owned Car Advertising Used for Propaganda

December 15th, 2009 No comments

DETROIT: So when does a car become a propaganda vehicle? When a car company gets taken over by the government. Has there ever been a car commercial that was focussed on a political statement? Not in our knowledge. It’s not that the NIP doesn’t support the aims of the commercial below. It’s just that this commercial comes from a company  that  is now owned and controlled by the US government. Bigger government and state controlled media, they unavoidably go hand-in-hand.

Hitler and his Nazi party were experts in propaganda. They passed their expertise on to the Soviets at the end of WWII. The Soviets have since joined the ash-heap of failed totalitarian regimes.

It is ironic that this Chrysler advertisemnt features communist leaders in Moscow. Is the Obama administration pushing the USA into becoming the next propaganda-wielding regime?

800,000 Doses of Vaccine Recalled – Your Government at Work

December 15th, 2009 1 comment

800,000 H1N1 Vaccines RecalledATLANTA: 800,000 doses of the H1N1 vaccine were recalled today. Another example of fine government-supervised healthcare. First of all, H1N1 is a real catchy name for the flu. The government renamed the “swine” flu to H1N1 to protect the good name of pigs, presumably as a result of a lawsuit by pigs represented by Cass Sunstein, White House Regulatory Czar.

We here at the NIP object to the renaming of this flu in the first place. Being politically correct has no place in public policy when it comes to naming flu strains. Especially since now pigs are calling it “human” flu, since apparently now they are catching it from farmers. Yes, that’s true. According to ChoSun Korea News pigs have now caught the flu from humans: Read more…
