JAMES SIMPSON: As reported at Daily Caller today, senior NPR executive Ron Schiller has been caught in a sting video orchestrated by investigative journalist James O’Keefe. O’keefe’s organization set up a fake Muslim Brotherhood group named the Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) Trust, and approached NPR about donating $5 million to counter what they described as pro-Zionist coverage in the media.

In the video, Schiller compares the Muslim Brotherhood to the women’s movement, calls tea partiers “seriously racist, racist people,” and justifies NPR’s firing of Juan Williams as an action Schiller was “very proud of.” Schiller was accompanied by Betsy Liley, NPR’s Director of Institutional Giving, who compared the experience of the Muslim Brotherhood to Japanese Americans interred in detention camps during WW II. At one point the two Muslim pretenders joke that they and their friends referred to NPR as “National Palestinian Radio.” Schiller and Liley laughed in agreement.

The statements Schiller and Liley make in the video just get better and better, an eye-popping, monument to their towering arrogance and stupidity. The saddest part is that they personify the kind of presumptuous, conceited attitude endemic to the media left.

JAMES SIMPSON: As the battle of the budget wages on, and the March 4^th D-Day moves inexorably closer, and with the Continuing Resolution passed in the House of Representatives early this morning, including two amendments by Rep. Steve King (R-IA) to defund Obamacare, the media is increasingly raising the specter of a possible government shutdown. What every Republican, every patriot, every person conceivably affected needs to understand is how this will impact average Americans.

Will airports shut down because air traffic controllers have gone on leave? Will those mean Republicans throw granny out in the street when Social Security stops sending payments? Will everyone who receives checks in the mail see their income dry up because the Post Office shuts down?

Will welfare mothers have to feed their children cat food?

The Democrats will tell you that and more. A Google search of “government shutdown” brings up pages describing dire consequences. But if you follow the links you will see that this is more a reflection of leftist web domination than anything else.

The greatest consequence of a government shutdown will be the Democrat-generated media hysteria we will have to put up with unless/until they get their way. They will demagogue at every opportunity, describing fantastic scenes of nationwide anarchy. They will do what they always do, about the only thing they do well, and in fact have already begun doing:

They will lie.

There is plenty of coverage of yesterday’s missile launch off the California coast near Los Angeles. Since none of our armed forces did it, isn’t it obvious some other country was involved? What better way for the Chinese to intimidate the Obama administration than by firing a missile just miles from our coastline?

The NIP so far has steered clear of the the Obama birth record controversy due to lack of concrete evidence either way. Taking our roll as watchdogs seriously, we ourselves do not want to be accused of disseminating false information. However, Diana West has now compiled a compelling list of discrepancies and omissions the deserve scrutiny. The fact is, the birth certificate controversy is only the beginning of the presidential mystery. There is so much we don’t know for certain about President Obama. Inexplicably but intriguigingly, he has failed to produce his bona fides, while the media (and the White House media in particular), who could ask for them, don’t care, or don’t want to care. PHOENIX, AZ: Last Friday April 23rd we saw protestors in Phoenix hurtling water bottles and other projectiles at the police. The protestors in Arizona are all riled up because now if they get stopped speeding they have to show their driver’s license to proof they are in the country legally. This is the kind of rough-and-ready protest we have come to expect from the Left. Compare the Tea Party Grandmas who have the SWAT called out on them to this crowd and it makes you wonder why the media is all over Tea Partiers and give passes to the Left.

SELWYN DUKE: Contradiction is no stranger to the mainstream media, and it is on full display in their treatment of the Catholic-priest sexual abuse story.  Normally, the media take pains to point out that transgressors should not be used to typify the group with which they’re associated.  For instance, when terrorism is covered, we’re told that the jihadists of the world constitute just a small group of “extremists” and do not represent Islam.  That is, when the media can’t manage to identify such people only as “youths” and must actually address the issue in the first place.  Yet, with the Church matter, they have no problem blaming the Church as a whole, tarnishing the reputations of the institution, Catholics in general and all priests through gratuitous, slanted coverage.

But there is one group in this story that not only isn’t painted with a broad brush, it’s whited out: homosexuals.  Claim that the abuse was homosexual in nature and you’ll hear accusations of intolerance, bigotry and backwardness.  “Don’t be ignorant,” say the apologists, “Haven’t you heard about psychology and the ‘determination’ that homosexuality and pedophilia are completely different things?”  Well, I will ask if they’ve heard about word definitions. JAMES SIMPSON: Forgive the obscene photo of Politically Incorrect show host Bill Maher, but it serves as a stark visual testimonial to the Left’s true nature. Every day, the Left shows us with their own actions that they are exactly what they accuse conservatives and tea partiers of being.

It is astonishing that they have the gall to accuse anyone of anything. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. But then we remember that the smear and the lie is all they have. As a post at Powerline relates, “It is liberals, not conservatives, who rely on ad hominem attacks, outrageous allegations and violent imagery.” The accusations of racism and threats of violence put forth by Congressional Democrats since Saturday are straight out of the Alinsky playbook. They probaby made the calls themselves.

Thank God for talk radio and the internet. Thanks to the New Media, they can no longer do these things with impunity. As Andrew Breitbart says, “The emperor has no clothes.” The Left is being exposed for the empty fraud of a movement it is, and as that happens, they are getting increasingly desperate.
